Our bodies were not created to digest meat. The best health is to be a vegetarian from birth. I never forced meat on my daughter, I just fed her carbs and grains along with vegetables and fruit. Her health is fine, and now she is almost three she barely chooses to eat meat.

This is a fact the healthiest way is no meat. I am not saying I am a vegetarian, and my daughter is very healthy and gets lots of protein, I'm just saying it is healthier and better to not force heavy meats such as beff down your kids throat.

My daughter is very healthy, I see other kids whose parents stuff burgers down their throats and they seem out of shape. It is not natural for humans to eat meat, we didn't eat meat until the earth was flooded then we had no choice. Of course now our bodies have adapted to eating meat. But originally, meat is not for us. But who am I to talk, I just had me a big ol' steak last night.

when the vegetarian and omnivore have the same caloric intake the health is comparable. there is no data that supports claims that the vegetarian has a higher quality of life or better health.

This is something that many would love to believe but it just ain't so. Read some research that was done on cultures who consumed a traditional high diet of animal protein. See what their health benefits were/are before coming to a conclusion.

I'd like to add something to my comment. You are correct, God-fearing humans, if you go according to the scriptures, did not consume meat until after the flood. Before that time they were vegetarian. You may also note that humans were growing further away from perfection. I believe that this is why God allowed animal protein to be included in the diet. I think that this is why we need meat...our bodies do not function the way they did when the first human pair were placed on earth. Afterall, they were supposed to live forever.

Studies haven't concluded that the human body isn't meant to eat meat. When man first started, our natural instinct was to eat a diet primarily consisiting of meat. Vegetables didn't fully become incorporated until the homeosapiens started becoming more civilized. If anything, grains aren't "natural" to our body. Keep in mind grains were invented by man during the time of the egyptians. That is when obeseity started appearing in history. Protein or meat lowers your insulin level, and carbs including vegetables, fruit and carbs raise it. I'm worried her diet may become too imbalanced between protein and carbs, possibly resulting in diabites.

If you are using getting sick from raw meat as an example, what about when people get sick from vegetables, does that mean they are not meant to eat them either? Keep in mind that the huge food born illness scandal in Europe a while back was traced back to cucumbers. The huge recalls and illness in the recent past in the US were from melons, spinach, peanut butter, green onions, tomatoes, etc... So how does that fit into your arguement? AND what makes you think our ancestors didn't cook meat? If they were able to keep themselves warm in cold climates, they had clothing(skins) AND fire. They cooked. There is ample evidence of this in the few early human cadavers found and examined.

Of course our bodies were designed to digest meat. Just look at our teeth. We have the teeth of omnivores which means meat and vegetables. Choosing to be vegetarian does not mean that your life and health will be better or worse then someone that eats meat.

Raw meat is hard to digest, so I would think we should stay away from that, but we're designed as omnivores (we have a 'fang on our jaw on both sides' so at one point yes, meat was enough of our diet to change our teeth.

Omnivores eat a bit of everything--vegetarian and meat.

We have many adaptation in our bodies that enable us to eat meat. Our bodies need protein to function, and the fats from meats are also very healthy. Sure there is alternatives but i personally have no energy when i dont have meat in my diet
