Your question is off track. Putin and Chavez are criticized as authoritarian and moving toward dictatorship because they are squelching freedoms in their own countries, not because of their antipathy toward the US. You can oppose the US and still realize the harm Putin and Chavez are doing to democracy in their countries. They are cracking down on the press, rolling back term limits, suppressing the political opposition, etc. Both are demogoging the US to build support for dismantling democracy in their home countries.
Here is an excellent article on the two if you want an answer better than random folks opining on Yahoo.

Not going along with the US does not make one a dictator, suggest you look up the meaning of the word. It does make the US look weak and impotent when Chavez is allowed to threaten the US with impunity. This fool may soon implode, he is making enemies not only with the US, but Columbia, Spain, and among other world leaders.

They will change their constitutions to become dictators. If you read the histories of their countries, this kind of thing happens all the time.
Freedom, practice it.
Freedom, sometimes we have to fight to keep it.
