Two things. Endurance and the reason why God has allowed wickedness until our day. The challenge Satan issued to God and the accusation he made that Job (and thus all mankind) only served him because of selfishness was one that needed to be answered. Job was faithful despite believing God was the cause of his woes and set a fine example for the rest of imperfect humans to follows.
