I've tried alcohol, listerine, bandaids, duct tape, benadryl lotion and pills. I hope someone can help.

I believe that you may have a condition called Hidradenitis Supprativa. It is a condition of re-occurring boils/ cysts/abscesses , that are often misdiagnosed as ingrown hairs, herpes, being unclean and folliculitis. This is a newly diagnosed skin condition , but there is a lot of info out there.
Here is a link :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidradenitis_suppurativa
If this sounds like it might be you, READ it, PRINT it out, and TAKE it to your DOC.
Its better to try to start treatment soon, it can spread over the body if left untreated. These boils can become quite large and painful. Sometimes even lasting for weeks or months , do not attempt to POP them they can then tunnel under your skin and spread all over the body. Most common areas are armpits, groin, binkni line, inner legs, and intimate places and basically anywhere that sweats and rub against clothing. Stress is a big inducer.

There is some support groups at MSN

and yahoo, and I am open for questions!
I have had this for 8 years, I was misdiagnosed for a LONG time, It was very embarrassing, painful and scary. I am just trying to help out so you don’t have to wait as long as I did.

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.
The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid—such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.

you did not say where this has occurred. face? buttocks? sometimes it is caused by friction from clothing (like around neck or pants on butt.) do you have an iron deficiency? chronic cases can have this problem. i would make sure you are seeing a dermatologist & not a family practice dr. the derm. dr. can prescribe a quinolone orally & mupirocin topically.
it sounds like you will have to find a regimen that works & really stick with it or this will keep happening all over again. once you get it under control ask the dr. what you can do for maitenance to prevent another bad outbreak.
good luck!

Get them biopsied. They may be fungal or viral. If your regular doctor can't help you, it's time to go to a dermatologist. Geting your iron levels like the above person said is a very good idea.

The problem with shaving is that it can cause things like that. It helps if you do it in the bath or shower. Try getting a full wax instead.
