My son has been having diarrhea every day since he has been eating oranges on a daily basis. I thought fruit was good for kids? Should I stop letting him have oranges?

If he's having diarrhea while eating oranges, he may be intolerant of them. Stop feeding him oranges. If the diarrhea stops, your answer is that, for your son, oranges are off limits. Try apples and pears. They have more fiber and less fruit sugar.

Oranges are very good for children, but fruit commonly causes diahrea if too much of it is eaten. Banana's however are binding and so try getting him to eat a few banana's until his stool is normal again. Then, allow him to eat no more that one orange per day. If this is all he is eating now, then perhaps the diahrea is not related to his orange consumption, but to an intestinal flu. I really hope he is well soon!

Yeah, stop the oranges for a bit and see if it gets better. It could be a citrus allergy. Try apples, bananas, pears, etc.

When the little ones have diarrhea, you should follow the BRAT diet: Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast (dry). Also you can give pedialyte type product (NOT Gatorade--too much sugar makes it worse.) You can call your insurance's nurseline (if they have it) that is actually where I got all this info.

Stop the oranges and see if it clears up, also cut out dairy. If it clears up you know what it was. If it doesn't clear up put him on the BRATT diet- bananas, rice, apples, tea, toast until he is feeling better.
