myself and some other students from my high school want to raise money for a business in our communtiy called hospice of the valley. it's kinda like a hospital but it's for termanly ill paitents. they stay at the hospice house when their family's can no longer give them the care they need to feel comfortable as they pass away. its a really good place and the services they provide are all paid for my health insurance or by hospice themselves. we want to raise money for them - but not in your average spaghetti dinner way - we want to do something diffrent and unique to help. any ideas?

You can do a cruise fund raiser. Many of the cruise lines will donate up to $50 per cabin to a non-profit organization for everyone in the group who cruises. You can take a vacation and help the hospice center at the same time.

Not a unique idea, but gathering goods from your families and neighbours and holding a mammoth garage sale would be good. They go over well in our town, especially if they benefit charity.

Auctions are good, too. With items and services donated by local businesses.

This is a fine idea, by the way. Bless you all!

These days people's response to donate to charity is "I don't have the money" or "I can't afford it". The simplest fundraising idea is to get everyone in the community to simply "Save their coins"...give them a specific amount of time, and I will guarantee you enough money to donate to the hospice. Coins are one of the easiest things to save, even if you are broke.

In my state there is a deposit on cans & Bottles 10cents. The boys on the football team go door to door once a year to collect cans as a fund raiser.

There are people trained in fundraising that you can talk with. I'm on a committee to build a Skate PArk in Stevens Point, and we met with a specialist in fundraising and that helped us a lot.
