There is no doubt that Hollywood movies are to be blamed for many of the misconceptions that people have about Americans and their American way of life.
However, sometimes the movies DO, in a relatively honest manner, portray the actual lives of liberal, free-thinking (that may not always be a positive thing) women in roles that are considered non-Islamic to the moderate Muslims living all over the world.
The US porn industry, and the slime that is posted on the Internet has enforced this image too...as you can imagine...
So to answer you question, yes, but who is to blame for this not fully truthful image of American women? I'd say we blame ourselves...

America has not yet been discovered when Islam is found, so how come Islam teaches American woman?
Keep your own faith, and learn to respect the other's difference. Most of all, don't feel that your point of view is superbest above the others and don't bump two different things into each other. I've seen things like this where the religion is 'dueled' versus something else; the topic about seeing everything from one's religion point of view is not really related and unnecessary. It only puts democracy down.
I always ask this to fanatics: Which one would you prefer, you be born and pray often but eventually someday you chop someone's head off, or be born as an atheist and never find God but you always helpful and never do anything wrong against the society.
Respect - respect - and respect the others.

As a muslim, I have indeed went to a nude beach. One thing I learned from that is to NOT be judgemental. I feel that the world would be a better place if we all try nudity--although Islam forbids group and same sex nudity. In much as I have learned about the hijab for women and the respect behind it, I felt the same way about nudism.
Don't be ignorant, just learn. Most of all, respect the differences about others. No one is wrong, and not everyone can be right.

Islam doesn't teach anything about American women. Now our American movies, magazines, and other forms of media leave a heck of an impression on people of other countries and cultures and all religions... and it isn't always a good impression...

American women *do* run around nearly naked - at least in comparison to Muslim women in middle eastern countries.
And no - Islam doesn't teach it. But some Muslim priests (Imam?) may teach it. Just like they teach extremism and stir up the masses in God's name.
American television teaches it as well. But I fail to see the problem. Styles change - Greeks wore togas, Europeans wore skirts over skirts, hoop skirts were really big once, hawaiians wore leaves.

I sold a LOT of spaghetti-strap tank tops and very short shorts at my job this summer. I would never dress like that, but I admire those who can.
I know, Gorgeous, right on. I had a Kuwati boyfriend. No the religion does not, but due to westernization and globalization, they are seeing more western habits and can therefore conclude about many American women's attitudes and behaviors. Not saying they have bad attitudes or behaviors, although certain pictures speak for themselves.
