B/c people don't like accepting the truth!!! If you apply science to the bible and to other religious texts u quickly find out that it doesn't add up!!! Science is largely based off logic and religion isn't logical. Conclusions are drawn in relgious texts off unqualified authority or a lack of evidence!
Its funny how science can cure diseases and take us to the moon yet some people still won't honor its power! Basically science contradicts religion!

I don't think people are going "against" science when they choose to believe in something that science can't prove. Believers are simply 'for' God - or the image of God that fits their belief. For them, science is fine, wonderful, even. But they have been able to seperate belief in God from their knowledge/love/or appreciation for science. There are educated people, scientists, who believe in God. That's why it's a belief, and not a branch of science (although metaphysics and quantum physics are coming awfully close, I think )

What gets me is the people who go against it say things like "sure, science saved lots of lives but look how overpopulated the world is now!"
It's sickening.
