A few years ago, while visiting Uganda in East Africa, my group stopped along side a road somewhere and literally 3 dozen people, all wearing what looked like purple lab coats, came sprinting to our car. Each person was carrying about ten sticks with fire roasted chicken pieces on them. I am not sure if it was the best chicken I have ever eaten, or it was a result of two days worth of airline food and bottled, flavorless water, or a combination of the two, but either way at that moment, the exotically presented yard bird was quite tasty.

Pheasant and Venison are really good, pheasant's like a more gamey tasting chicken, and vension has a beef taste, but it's a lot leaner. Oysters are a bit weird but good if you grill them with garlic butter and parmisan cheese, as it stops them being too slimy
Another thing I tried and loved, was hot chocolate with chili powder, you just make up 40g of hot chocolate powder with hot milk and 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder. It gives it such a great kick and it's lovely on a cold night!

Venison is delicious and also pretty healthy. But if you fancy something a bit different try Kangaroo - just imagine the best steak you ever had and multiply that by ten and you'll get some idea of how good it is!
Had Guanaco (type of Llama) when I was in Chile and that was good and also Beaver (and yes I am being serious!) which was not so good.

Lamb has a great taste but I'm not a fan of the gamy texture. I'm sure you've had lamb before though. And living in Kansas, I've had buffalo once or twice and that is excellent!
Do you like seafood?! If so, mahi mahi, lobster, atlantic cod, and sea bass are outstanding! Escargot isn't as bad as it seems like it would be either! Not a fan of muscles though=b

I've eaten lots of things some people may think they are weird and some people may not think they are weird.
I've had:
octopus ( I love it!)
venison ( venison meatballs taste great in tomato sauce)
duck (taste better in thai and asian dishes)
pheasant ( tastes like chicken thighs)
chucker ( like a partridge)
lamb (very greasy, but tastes great with garlic and rosemary)
frog's legs( tastes like very tough chicken)
snails in garlic and butter ( very yummy!)

The weirdest food that I have ever eaten is Lobster. It tasted a little different, and weird, but on the whole, it was really good.
I have also eaten Deer, but it doesn't taste too much different from beef.
Hope this helps.

Hello Mr bubbles McMuffin cheesecake,
(long name but very cute)
I Don't recommend eating the worm found in bottles of tequila, as I ate one once but couldn't taste it at all because I was so inebriated at the time.
On a dare I've eaten batterer and fried rattlesnake meat. (guess what? it tastes like, chicken.)
And once, again on a dare, I ate Rocky Mountain Oysters. Other wise known as bull testicles. They were broiled and the taste was very much like liver. Hm mm. It was okay, one time only. Both the rattlesnake and RMO's were found on menus in restaurants in Tuscon Arizona.
Here are two better suggestions.
The other recommendations for other meats would be cows tongue. you can find them in ethnic delicatessens and the like. Good for tacos and very unique flavor.
Also try pickled pigs feet. I know it sounds weird but when they're made fresh they are not bad at all.
Oh yeah, don't try "beer milkshakes" the concept is promising but the result is very disappointing. yeah it was another dare...i gotta stop doing that!
Good Luck!
p.s. not so exotic but my dad used to give us kids cold sardines in tomato sauce on saltine crackers as a snack. We loved it!

I ate rattlesnake once. I live in Texas where there are rattlesnake hunts all the time. Roast it over an open fire and Mmmmmmmmm. Tastes like nothing you've ever had.
