Is the United States Army great enough to take over the entire world?

The United States Army is not great enough in numbers to be able to secure and hold such a large area.

As such, even if they took it, they wouldn't be able to keep it.

Depends on the conditions that you want after they take over.

USA can lay waste to the world with its nuclear arsenal. Can you image a world where all of the middle east oil is gone along with all water desalination plants? How about a couple of years of Nuclear Winter? Just two years of no crop production and half the world would die.

Not to mention the fact that the USA is the only nation on the face of the earth to admit it maintains smallpox in the lab AND has enough vaccine for its entire population. It could just immunize all its own legal residents, let smallpox loose and there goes about half the world's population. And that is one disease. Imagine all the other diseases that will pop up as civilization collapses.

If nuclear and biological warfare are not enough, there are chemical weapons. There are chemical agents today that make VX nerve gas look like "a little smog."

The question is not if the US Army is great enough to take over the world, but under what conditions and with what weapons would it do it?

Were good well trained but lets not go over the top we would have a lot of problems trying to do something like that also have u seen the size of China's military that would be one major fight the US,would have their hands full with if came down to ground troops China,out numbers the US,ground forces at least five to one that would be one hell of a fight,we r better trained no doubt but when if comes to a country like China,we would still have a serious fight one our hands n that is just that country so no great enough to take over the entire world talking as a veteran that I am it would not happen not without a heavy price n that is the lost of some serious lives in the process.

Yes, at least we have the technological ammo to win the world over 3 times... however, we do not have the soldier numbers to police the world and hold that territory (we've learned in Iraq that our military is terrible at acting as a police force without a large number of troops).

The truth is, our military is 20-40 years more technologically advanced than the general public realizes. A large problem is that those technologies are outrageously too expensive to reproduce in mass quantities.

If you're asking if the US Army could conquer the world "ALONE", without the help of the other US military branches, it's impossible. First, you need logisitics. How do you intend to ship them overseas without utilizing the navy or air force? You'd have the defending country's enitre military force up against your army. VERY BAD on your side. You've also have to take into account that other nations have nukes as well. They won't hesitate using them if it's the last resort.

Honestly if Alexander lived longer i consider he could have made extra allies then another empire and could had been capable to obliterate any navy drive in his means. Also he could have had a inheritor to rule after him with the identical pursuits of conquering and fitting allies with the opposite countries. Honestly he was once the one king that elevated his empire by way of alliances, definite he has conquered them however he provided them their freedom of alternative and grew to become allies with them as quickly as he would. I'm definite the sector could be a greater location if he lived longer and had an inheritor to the throne.

sometimes the real measure of power and strength has to do with how you use and DON'T use your power.

if you just beat up on those weaker than you, you are only a bully.

in the end bullies never win and have no real power.

The American Military as a whole has the ability, but alas; the cry baby, whining, sissies that sit around complaining about what we're doing in the world now, definitely wouldn't have the stomach for it. Besides it's not the American way, we save the masses, not conquer them!

They have enough isolationism tools and enough striking power to endorse the isolation status of their doctrine to rule the world... they don't need to take over the world.
