Ask him if there is something that he wants. there is probly not much from you material that he wants. Put your money away. Do not mess with his stuff. Make him a desert, cookies or cake, and clean up after yourself. If he likes a hobby get him a calander or something useful to do with it. I like tools motorcycles and 4x4s so a calander with a girl and a motorcycle or just a nice bike of the kinds i like would work. If he is into tools and your mother does not mind then the ridged tool calender would be very nice for a workshop. I work on stuff for a hobby I guess so i get lots of how to fix books for my self. Just ask him if you want to buy something so you will know it is something he will like. But a nice cookie tin of brownies made by you would be great. It is best i get that tool I want myself so i get what I really want.

Depends how old he is- If he's in his 50's+ some hankercheifs would be good.
But if he's in his 30's, 40's maybe some perfume would be good. But you say you can't spend much money. It all depends on how much you have.

depending on his personality, get him a book, tools, clothes, make something like a card or a scrap book, or something you find in a store that you think he'll like.
