I've got a rat that won't die. I've used all the store bought posions & he still is alive. Any suggestions?

Let me clarify this...it isn't my pet...it is annoying and won't die. If you are going to be a tree hugging animal lover, than don't answer the question. If you want to love your rodents then fine...I want to kill mine.

That's terrible you shouldn't try to kill a rat. Is it you're pet or a wild one?
If it's a wild one you can buy a humane trap at the store and set it free in a field.
If it's your pet, for one thing you should not be trying to kill it. And you could just take it to a little critter rescue. Just go on petfinder and find a rescue near you and ask them to take it. It's better then killing it.

Poisons are a bad idea anyway. Other animals may eat it; and if the rat eats it, a cat or owl could eat the rat and die.
Regular rat traps are usually effective. Put them next to a wall in the area the rat normally frequents. Keep all food where the rat can't get it. Bait the trap with something good smelling like peanut butter or bacon. Leave it untouched for days, because rats are afraid of anything new. The rat may take some time to decide to approach it.
Even better, but more expensive, is the Rat Zapper. It is a battery-powered electrocution device for rats and mice. You bait it with dry food such as dry cat food. Again, it may take a few days before the rat will go in. When it does, ZAP. Discard the rat and put the bait back in (the rat didn't have time to eat it). Since the trap now has rat scent on it, it will attract more rats. Since there is no obvious violence, they won't know to avoid it.
BTW, you might get some soiled bedding from a pet store or somebody who has a pet rat, to attract the rat too.

At first I thought you were talking about your pet too. But in this case you need to call in the proffessionals. If you hadn't of used all those poisons I would of suggested borrowing someone's cat but now you shouldn't do that as the rat has probably ingested some of the poison but not enough to die. If the cat eats it it will be poisoned. Even if it is not enough to make the cat die it could make it very sick. I sprayed a cockroach the other night and I had to make sure after it died that my cat didn't eat it. Call in the exterminators and they will get rid of it for you and spray your house to be free of pests for about 12 months.

There is a very potent rat/mouse food called "RATRAP". If you can't find it, then use a rat trap with cereal and peanut butter on the metal trigger. Mice love cereal with peanut butter coated around it and I'm sure rats would like it too. I got this tip from a rodent exterminator. Trust me, it will work.
Good luck catching that rat!

Fix some food with anti-freeze, because to animals and humans it has a sweet taste.

Is this a pet rat or a wild rat?
If it's a wild rat: trap it in a trap and drown it.
If it is a pet rat - take it to the vet.

A small bowl of anti-freeze will do the trick. I have heard that they are unable to digest bubble gum too.
