Yes, and say what you want about Soldier Of Fortune magazine, but they are one of very few publications that actually get out into the war zone and report from the front lines while other journalists are sitting in their hotel rooms reporting what they hear from their interpreters and drivers.
Yeah, Soldier Of Fortune is a corn ball name but you have to read whats inside of the magazine, not just the name on the cover.

Funny, but the French & Belgians were the top of the class when it came to mercenary fighting in Africa, along with the odd Paddy like "Mad Mike" Hoare.

yes there was,.....pay was something like $800 per month for 8 months of duty, or $1200 per month for 12 month of duty,.....but i do not think you got paid till you finished out your term,.....
