Find a local food bank or church to work with. Ask them before you go and collect everything what they accept and when they need it for Christmas.

Gods food pantrys are good, soup kitchens need food, some local churches have food banks I'm sure, Homeless shelters, orphanages if there are any in your area

Columus is big enough to have a food pantry for the poor and homeless. It could be called a repository. You can contact your local Salvation Army for info.
