We do joke alot between the branches, but when push comes to shove we are all there together and look out for one another. There is no other brother hood like the U.S. military.

N kudos to u my son is also a Marine,n what is wrong with that branch of the military they have a honored n storied history,n the reason that others putting down the other branches of the military one they probably aren't man/woman enough to join themselves n the big thing is the history of the Marines that is time honored.
N this may come as a shock to everyone the Marines can not fight a whole war by themselves I do not care how good they r or there storied history now can they.
I served in the Army & Navy,n y father served in the Army,n fought in the Korean War,so it does not matter what branch u join we all have the same mission as u stated to defend our country so I am proud of ur decision as for these other yahoos out here who probably never wore the uniform for this country
they r a bunch of wishers they wished they could but didn't because either they did not have the coconuts to make that leap or were just plain down right afraid too so they have to say something n that is all it is something they know what they can do with themselves with me having to write it!
Good luck in the Marine Corps,I wish u all the luck n best my son has been in since 1998 n is now a Sgt,n so can u.

I served my time in the Marines part of that time was as a Fleet Marine which basically meant i got to serve aboard a navy ship. Naturally there was a fair amount of ribbing and barbs tossed around about the merits and naturally the DE-merits of each branch. Sometimes it got a little carried away but usually it was just in fun kinda like two brothers that grow up needling each other. And pity the poor soul who picked on a swabby or squid while in a liberty port!! If there was a Marine anywhere near the fight was on!! Especially if it was some dog faced pansy army puke!

some guy up there said the Army's Job is mainly Logistics and Signals...what a retard, those are very small rbanches..actually TWO branches out of over 16 branches in the US Army. If only people looked at history, theyd see that the Army shines just as much as the USMC.

The navy and the AF have it right. Send the officers off to get shot at while the lower paid enlisted guys stay in the rear.
I have the utmost respect for any one who wants to be a Marine. That is some hard stuff there. I have worked with every branch of the military at one point or another. They were all fun to work with. and the navy boys I worked with man did they know how to party.

Our military is the best in the World due to its diversity. Could you imagine the cold war without the Army in Europe, the Air Force patrolling day and night, the Navy's aircraft carriers / submarines intimating the Soviets and the Marine Corp well just scaring the **** out of everybody. Every branch of our military is important in the grand scheme of things.

In all honesty, you're right. BUT, it's kind of like having 4 brothers in a family. We all take shots at each other, and for the most part, it's all in fun. I know how hard we work in the AF, and have tons of respect for what the other branches do. We all have our part in the big puzzle. But we fight amongst ourselves, and for the most part have fun doing it. Now, everybody in other branches better know we have their back and expect them to have ours. Let someone else from the outside mess with another branch, though, and we'll be there fighting right with them. So, calm down, young un!! It's all in love (mostly anyway)!!!

i agree. each branch depends on the other branches to help. w/o the marines, there would be no front line, without the army, the supplies and backup would not be, without the airforce and navy, wed have no way of knowing where the enmy was coming from or where they were hiding. each branch has their own agenda, but the overall mission is still, protect america and its interests.
usmc = boots on the ground/most hardcorest of fighters
army = supply lines and communication posts
navy = water support/watching eachothers backs/launching of the air force
air force = air support and sneak attacks/quick elimination of enemy bases
yes, there is competition because everyone wants to believe they made the right choice, but we're all just fingers on the right hand of america. :D :D

Hahaha, wait until you go to a bar with a bunch of your fellow Marines and there are a bunch of Soldiers on the other side. Yeah yeah, Marines say that ARMY means Ain't Ready for Marines Yet and we call Marines cannon fodder... but it's usually all in good fun. Nobody REALLY cares unless they're drunk - and that goes away by morning.

Navy is hard..
Air force is hard..
Army is hard..
Marines is hard..
You just need the fitness and mental capacity to withstand the discipline required, as any professional force from any country.
I'm English and I'm wanting to join the Parachute regiment- Knowing a few in the forces myself, banter and competition is common but that's as far as it goes. I respect every member of the armed forces, even members of the Royal family, although they don't do anything in conflict zones- this goes without saying i give respect to any military personnel i come across, whether it's American, German, French.. well not french.. but all I'm trying to get at is do what you want to do and take no notice of anyone else!!
