Why is the number 4 and the number 7 used so much in the Bible?

A lot of information on the end of days has to do with those two numbers. Please no religious argument/comments if you are going to be mean.

Seven (hepta) is the number of perfection. Thus the seven churches represent the Church in its totality. Three and a half implies a number opposed to the Divine (seven), but broken in itself, and is overwhelmed by judgment and utter ruin.
