What is the greater meaning (or secret) of life here on earth? Do books such as the Bible or the Kabbalah hold any greater truths about human existence? Can anyone provide a definite answer? Thank you!

Ahh, the Secret of Life. Where do I begin? Well, there really isn't one definite answer. But there are a couple.
1. To live your life in a way that is pleasing to God. This doesn't mean going to church once a week and being done with it. It means living every day that you've got to the fullest and believing that nothing is impossible. Yeah yeah, I know what you're probably thinking. "Everyone always says that" But, it's true. If you live every day as if it's a day of work and suffering you will obviously become a very troubled person. But if you trust God and believe that He has a plan for your life, you will know that you need to live every day as if you were going to die tomorrow. Literally. You might, you never know. You might get in an accident or (in some rare cases) get shot or have a heart attack... etc. You never know. Also remember that when you are lonely, sad, or afraid of the future, or even regretting what has already happened, you need to remember that God can do ANYTHING. And, even if what happens to you doesn't go with what you asked or even the question you had or prayer you had for God wasn't answered in the way you wanted it to be, you need to remember that with God nothing is impossible. He has taken what has happened and will turn it into something beautiful.

And the other reason for life is this:
Everyone's lives are affected by 1 decision we make, so remember to make the right decisions and know what the consequences are if you don't.
Think about this situation for instance:
A young mother cannot handle being a parent, so she aborts her child.
The child dies (or the politically correct term is "aborted")
Her family is affected by the loss
The mother is affected by sadness and depression for the rest of her life.
The mother's friends become depressed because she is and their families see their hurt....
and it keeps spreading and spreading because of 1 decision that somebody made.

Don't take anything for granted and know that God is always with you and loves you very much no matter what.

May God bless you!

What are we? Where did we come from?
To ascertain the meaning or secret of life we have to know this two main questions.
The Bible and Kabbalah don't provide the specific answer, but we can find them in the ancient Vedic literature, like Bhagavad gita and Srimad Bhagavatam.
Most people consider —religiosity, economic development, and sense gratification—as the goal of meaning of life, and some others, very few, consider liberation the goal of life; but most people are unable to ascertain the fifth goal, and that is the key of the secret of life.

There is no greater (or any) meaning to life. Life is an accident, a mistake that befalls all of us, and it is completely random, with no chance, purpose, or organization. It is an absurd abstraction that our minds choose to organize into patterns to better facilitate our survival.

If you are looking for a meaning to life, you have two options - invent one, or accept that there is none, and dwell in contentment with that one truth.

God put us on this earth to please Him, and to worship Him. Adam and Eve, however, sinned. Now there is sin in the world, and so there is death. But there is not only earthly death, but eternal death, as well. God sent his son, Jesus, as a man to die for our sins on the cross. So if we believe in Him and accept His gift of eternal life after death, than we have done what we need to do in our lifetime. This, howerver, does not mean we have nothing more to do for Him. We are on this earth to please God and worship Him, and to be his minesters and lead other people to Jesus.
That is the true meaning of life, as found in the Bible.

The answer is very simple, very simple indeed.

Live by the golden rule.
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Or more simply
Harm no one - including yourself.

Also to discover yourself.
Find out and explore your passions - connect with them, and you will find your purpose here. (Passions are positive activities to engage in, that you find fun and interesting, etc)
To be all you can be.

The meaning of life is we were created to be worshipers of God, to have a personal loving relationship with him and to spend eternity with him. Sin took the meaning away, but Christ gave it back.
