Hi, i'm about 5 foot 4 inches, 146 pounds (i know i weigh quite abit) and i'm 13. I don't think i've hit puberty yet as i haven't started my period and my breasts haven't formed, but i have quite abit of extra weight around my stomach. Most of my friends have fat shaped stomachs and they have hit puberty, my mum tells me it's just baby fat and with come off when i start to develop, but i'm starting to have doubts. I've started swimming on weekends for about 3 hours will that help. I'm really concerned about this extra weight as i just really want to be able to were tight tops and not worry about what people will think, also i want to be able to eat whatever i want without thinking that i'm going to be fat. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

You shouldn't beworried about it... you're 13 and your body is about to do a lot of changing. You will very likely grow into your tummy, and once you get your boobs, butt and hips it will all balance out.

Hi,

There are a lot of sob stories out there about people and weight they've gained. I myself
was one of them, but I'm not going to sit here and bore you with my story. Just remember
as you're reading online, don't believe everything you hear, there is no "easy" button when
it comes to weight loss.

It all comes down to hard work eating right and knowing what type of exercises to do. Another big problem
is a lot of people work hard to get the weight off, and once its off they let everything go
they start eating the fast foods again, stop exercising. The weight comes back, and they
wonder why ?

There is a program I used... well I still use it. It has a lot of good information in it,
so feel free to check it out if you want.

"baby fat" is found on babies, hence the name. 146 lbs is a decent amount for a 13 year old girl or boy. your problem is not baby fat but your diet and daily level of activity.

You should work out anyway - just to be healthy. If you are overweight it will help you get to the right weight.
