For the last couple of weeks, my right hand has been expectantly going numb. Starting last night, my hand seems to immediately start to fall asleep and go numb as soon as I lay down. If I DO fall asleep, I wake up and my hand is numb and tingly, and there is pain going all the way up into my elbow. Any ideas on what this could be or how to fix it??? Im afraid I won't be able to sleep tonight because every time I lay down I wake up in excruciating pain.

You could have an nerve that being hampered. it could be from the cervical spine or the shoulder. I would See a neurologist and have him take X-rays. He can sometimes manipulate a nerve without much surgery and bring it back. Sometimes, without knowing it, in our daily lives we get rough and twist a nerve and it starts acting up. These can be fixed. A nerve can go to sleep forever, can change a path or even start working for another nerve. The doctor can fix there.
