or "Him" not "him". Honest question. Please no trolling.

I truly appreciate all the honest answers. I just wanted to know, as I myself am antitheist, and have never had a need to capitalize the "h" (unless at the beginning of a sentence).

Also, to the guy who said "why does it matter to you?", I'm just trying to be respectful of my fellow human beings by understanding and accepting the subtle differences in us all. Maybe you should try that someday.

I don't know, he's human like all of us and yet he is superior by having a capital H for He. Everything He touches must turn capital! :)

Capitalizing this word shows the divinity of the person being referred to. Interestingly, Catholics also capitalize "he" when referring to Lucifer.

edit: okay, never mind about the Lucifer/Satan thing. I was so sure I saw it capitalized somewhere in a prayerbook (he did get thrust into hell in the body of the prayer, but who's keeping track?) Couldn't find a good example on the net. Maybe they don't do that anymore.

Since you are trying to be respectful of others, then you should understand the "He" refers to "God," as opposed to "god."
In Judeo-Christian terms, that means one God instead of many gods of the world, or of other religions. Judaism and Christianity are both monotheistic. Therefore, we refer to Him with a capital H rather than the lower case h.

Respect. The importance of Him. Not everyone does capitalize.

"He" is God, the Almighty, The All Powerful. Whereas, "he" is just some guy on the street...

If a Christian wrote "He", you know the pronoun refers to either God or Jesus. It is capitalized out of respect for His position above all of us.

Some people don't understand the difference between a name and a pronoun...

I was told we are speaking about God when we use He and Him.
It is a show of respect.
I try to always capitalize He and Him when writing about God.

I never capitalize satan.

I do it out of respect and reverence of God. I never ask anyone else to do it, personal choice.

Edit: KJV does not capitalize "He" but the newer versions do.
