Why did he create it in the first place? What is god doing today? Does he have any construction plans? What did he do on the 8th day? When did he make the AIDS virus or any other STD?

God said that he created world in six days in Arabic Quran also. But in Arabic word "Yom" used for a day also means a period and there is no limit of the period. Period can be any length of years, a million years and a billion years too. It does make more sense that God didn't mean to say a day of earth.

In Quran God says Surah Al-Baqarah 2-255

Allah. There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory).

According to above statement of God in Quran, He doesn't sleep or rest and nothing tires him.

Consider the number of times the bible says she tried and failed with mankind. Obviously it could not have been done in one try.

God doesn't need "trial runs". He doesn't need to "practice" or do a "rough draft" or "do it over to get it better".

"He spoke and it was done; he commanded and it stood fast." KJV
