There is NO explicit law in Sudan against doing such a thing.
She didn't suggest the name, her students did.
Mohammed was not in reference to the Prophet but a popular child in the school.
The judge has sentenced her to a week in prison only.
Doing so is enormously stupid and barbaric.

I find it hard to believe that some people are so touchy!
I believe that we should all try and get along with each other, but sometimes they make it so difficult. You can try and bring somebody into the 21st century by giving them education, trade, democracy, civil rights, PCs and mobile phones ... but essentially they still have a 7th Century mindset!
Of course she shouldn't be punished.

NO never what sudan really needs is education I think they should just tell the woman it was wrong and she wont do it again who knows maybe she didnt do it on purpose she probably thought of it randomly.

No, of course not. I do however find it ironic that she is an educator. Yet, she did not educate herself on the laws of the land that she planned to say in for quite some time.

no....but she was wrong & should of known better...she was asking for trouble!.... but to be wipped or death??? i don't think so. she should b commited to a mental instutution though, to do that in that country!!. she was asking for trouble. a disturbed trouble maker.
