My experience with Catholics is that they do not know the word of God. Find a local Protestant denomination, try Pentecostal, some Baptist and Church of Christ that have a good Bible Study Group and tell them that you want to know the Word of God. To start with get a King James Version Study Bible and read the Book of John in the New Testament.
You will learn a lot about Jesus Christ. Pray and invite the Holy Spirit to come inside of you. Surrender your life to the Lord. Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you all things as you read your Bible.

It is hard to find a church today that is not watered down and for that reason I ask that you start with a Pentecostal church. Most believe in the Holy Spirit and the 5 fold ministry.

After you read the Book of John, Read the Book of Daniel in the Old Testament and then the Book of Revelation in the New Testament. There is more news in these 2 books than you will see on TV. God's Word is powerful and in the Name of Jesus everything with a name must bow down . . . even disease, drought, hurricanes, demons, devil and witches. You've missed a lot of Bible teaching. Try quickly to catch up.
From Genesis to Revelation it is all about Jesus the Christ.

Non denominational and Assembly of God are fine also.

Have a blessed day.

Ask Heavenly Father which church He wants you to join, and then don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Too many people are in the habit of thinking that when it comes to religion, truth is a matter of opinion instead of a matter of fact.

That is why so many people believe that any church that teaches from the Bible is a "true" church. But even a fourth-grader will tell you that if two people aren't in complete agreement, one of them is at least partially mistaken. There was only one true Church in Christ's time, why should there be more than one true Church now?

I know God loves us too much to just give us His Church once 2,000 years ago, then let us screw it up without ever stepping in again to help us out. That's why He completely restored it, about 200 years back.

I highly recommend visiting www.mormon.org, to learn more about the restoration of the Church of Jesus Christ.

I hope this helps!

Choose the one most acceptable to God. That is really the only thing that matters. It is the one that follows the Bible's directions in all things.

All must speak in agreement. (1Cor. 1:10) Where ever in the world you go, they must teach the same things, because of love in large doses with accurate knowledge and full discernment. (Philip. 1:9)

They would not teach commands of men as doctrines as that would mean that faith would be in vain. (Matt. 15:9) We must pay constant attention to our teachings in order to save both ourselves and those who listen to us. (1Tim. 4:16) That means testing all beliefs compared to Bible standards. (1John 4:1) Unless beliefs go strictly by the Bible, with no paganism or false religion doctrines from men, they are acceptable to God.

A simple search with a Bible Concordance or index about several doctrines will weed out most of them simply enough.

For example, some religions teach after death people feel and know what is going on. Does the Bible teach this? Psalms 146:4 and Eccles. 9:5, 10 say the dead know nothing, feel nothing, remember nothing and can do nothing. Jesus likened the death of Lazarus to sleep. So we can say for sure that any religions teaching differently is not correct according to the Bible.

This will get you started.

Personally I would recommend a non-denominational church. They tend to teach the Bible and it alone. They do not have a bunch of rules and regulations that are man made. If it is not in the Bible they reject it, which is how it should be.

That being said any Christian church will do. Any church where they believe the Bible and teach Jesus is the only way to salvation.

Do you beleive in Christ or the Church? Have you ever considered maybe you would have to leave the Church to discover you were wrong about it? Remember the story of the Prodigul Son?

Any Bible believing, Bible teaching church is what you need. No church is perfect. I recommend you study the Bible your self, and go to some different services at churches and see which meets your needs, and teaches the Bible. I myself am non-denominational (Protestant) Christian.

I'm not telling you what to do, that's up to you.

Before I left the Catholic church, I interviewed a lot of members of different religions.

Only the Jehovah's Witnesses answered ALL my questions from the Bible.

No prizes for guessing where I am now.

Any church is made up of people. People make mistakes. Why leave the Church christ founded for other manmade churches? Where evil abounds, grace abounds that much more. Don't leave, make it better. hugs

Test them all and see where you see the spirit best. Personally, my favorite is the Assemblies of God. I really feel the Holy Spirit there. Just test them all and see where God is calling you. God Bless.
