I believe I have a personal relationship with God, and I know the deceptions of Satan. I worship God, not my church. I would not have to go to church at all in order to worship the true God and the Son.

The Great Commission at Pentecost comes to mind...
When some Christians want to isolate themselves from the world, and worship the ink on a piece of paper in a book, and treasure their unique personal relationship with the Lord, are blinded by Satan into believing that their isolation can save them without getting up getting out and doing the work of Jesus Christ! Faith in Action is the call.
Jesus taught in action, not by textbook! Not one written word by Him!
So save the self righteousness and get busy in the Lord.

Yes, I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, you are 100 percent correct, if all the people in the US was really saved that says they are we would have changed the world. The next day after the rapture around here will be interesting,, but we won't be here. Great Question, maybe it will make people think, I just posted a question on the cross and how when you see it we think of Jesus, the Spirit revealed that to me one day during a Prayer, Its amazing what we could accomplish if we all would just be like Jesus. God Bless YOU!!!

I practice the doctrine of the Southern Baptist; I have a personal relationship with both Jesus Christ and His Father. Also, because of this personal relationship, The Holy Spirit dwells within me. It's an every day, every hour, every minute walk with my best friend. Who could ask for more?

I have a religion, I'm jewish. But I take everything I hear from the Torah with a grain of salt and I interpret GOD's meaning in my own way. I guess u could say I am part of a religion, but my religion allows me to have a personal reltionship w/ GOD. I've talked to Rabbis about this, and they think it is an excellent way of being spiritual. I now give a 5 minute talk at my synagogue every saturday before the sermon begins about this sort of thinking. =)

Yes I do have a personal relationship with God/Jesus. I think religion is a lot of what's wrong with the world today and I can't wait until He finally sets that straight.

Thats an excellent question. I think the people with a personal relationship with God tend to be the people who actually become nicer people by it.
In contrast, the people who worship the religion are the ones who become filled with hate as a result of being religious. They're probably the ones more likely to hate gays, be sexist, etc...

"Relationship not religion" is a product of an advertising salespeak-driven society, and is completely unbiblical.
What is a religion?
Religion . . . means the conscious relation between man and God, and the expression of that relation in human conduct. --J. K["o]stlin (Schaff-Herzog Encyc.)
Religion: belief in, or worship of, a god (Chambers)
Christianity IS a religion
1 Tim 3:16 “Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of our RELIGION: He was manifested in the flesh, vindicated in the Spirit, seen by angels, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory...“
Do you believe this?
2 Tim 3:5 “...holding the form of religion but denying the power of it. Avoid such people.“
Who is this talking to? Hmmmmm?
James 1:27 “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world."
Note that the word "relationship" does not appear anywhere in the Bible.
