So I'm Buddhist and so I know nothing about God or Jesus or anything that deals with Christianity, including the Bible. So when I tell my friends I dont celebrate Christmas or when I ask who is this person or who is that person, they all give me looks and like im stupid or something.

What can I say to them that can make them understand?

Tell them you are Buddhist and have never been exposed to anything Christian.

You are not stupid! NOT AT ALL!!!
In my company we take foreign exchange students from ALL over the world, PLUS our major work force is Cambodian.
Yet right now EVERY ONE is making Christmas wreaths, baskets of greens, and boxwood trees.
Most of these folks have NO IDEA what they are doing, not to mention, most of the glittery , gold, red and green plastic ornaments we use come from CHINA!!!!
Sweetie, you are in North America I presume! It is a Hugely Christian Population that has been ISOLATED from the Asian, African, and South East Asian population,OH let us not forget the Middle East and the Jewish Population!
What these ( supposed Christians) do not realize is their Christmas Celebration goes back to Pagan times, NOT CHRISTIAN.
and that their celebration, is a MINORITY CELEBRATION in the World wide scheme of things.
As for you. just go on line and type in Christ, Christmas, and you can get an update on the traditions, even though they are not truthful by Christian Bible accounts. It is what the MAJORITY WISH TO BELIEVE!
