Happy Birthday!
You should get one that is full size: The twin, if it covers at all, will cover only to the edges of your mattress. But there most likely is a full-sized version of the comforter that you like.

No - a twin size fits a bed that is 3' 3" wide just across the top. You have a full size bed that if 4" 6" wide just across the top. You need something that is at least 82" wide in total width - that should give you enough to cover the sides over your mattress. If you are not using a bed skirt, or dust ruffle as it is sometimes called, then you need something wider. Measure the distance from the floor to the top of your mattress to know the width of what you want if you do not plan to use a bed skirt. Hope this helps.

Twin will barely make it to the edges of the mattress. You are better off spending the few extra bucks and getting one that fits. It has to say full size or King size for it to fit.

No, twin size is smaller than full size, it would only cover about half of the bed, you need to find a comforter that comes in full size.
Good luck, I hope you find something cute for your birthday.
