One has to know good and evil, on a really deep emotional level. One needs to train it into ourselves. We are trained to be moral, just like we are trained in school, and trained for a job. We can become more directly connected with the consequences of abuse, by relating to those who are abused more directly. Understanding deeply the problems in this world, and what causes them, should help one to be more careful how one acts. Meditation/prayer, mind-body exercises. eating healthy, not overindulging, and keeping up on social problems and their consequences, should help one to become stronger and more sensitive spiritually. But one has to put the right amount of work into it, in order to bring about the inner transformation neccessary, to truely know good from evil.

The knowledge of good and evil doesn't cause the evil to stop. What causes the evil to slow are consequences to action and prevention of conditions that lead to evil behaviour.
(besides, child molestation isn't only a Catholic scandal - it pervades entire segments of society. Though, regrettably, Catholic priests should be the last. The true scandal for me is the cover up)

We do know the difference between good and evil, it is just we allow the blind eye or the deaf ear to control us. It is the gift of free will that we turn to. As in the Catholic scandel, teacher scandel, boy scout scandel, prison scandel, ect.. not just one but all.
We are made of God's image being physical and spritual. That is why when we do something bad we feel it and know it, it is in our make up.

We know the difference between good and evil, but we will not be able to stop abuse, SADLY. The One that will stop all the human suffering is, Jesus Christ.
