I slow cooked some stew meat I had--would this be good in a stir fry, or how else could I use it? I don't want beef stew and don't have many ingredients sitting here at home and it is storming outstide, not going to get anything!

stir fry is ok, just don't overcook it as stew meat can fall apart and dry out while being fried ...

if you have tomato sauce (onions and peppers are helpful but optional as long as you have the seasonings) around, try some ropa vieja ... mexican seasoning and you have shredded taco meat ... some sour cream and cream of muchroom soup and you can make stroganoff ... mixing with BBQ or steak sauce can be yummy on a sandwich ... if you have provolone you can make a modified philly cheese-steak ...

hmm ... I'll edit if I think of more ...

Beef stew meat is pretty tough unless slow-cooked, so I wouldn't recommend it for a stir fry. Do you like beef soup? If you have beef stock or bouillion you could add some veggies and noodles or barley along with the stew meat.

Also beef with noodles or rice is good. I saw a recipe that uses onion soup mix with the stew meat here: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Butter-Beef/Detail.aspx

GREAT in a stir fry or tacos! Or shed it and mix it with BBQ sauce for a great sandwich! Make a warm beef and cheese sandwich under the broiler. Shred it and put it on a salad with loads of cheese with your favorite dressing.
Yummy - Storm comfort food!

1. hash....saute onions, chopped beef, chopped potatoes, then add a beaten egg or two, and stir briefly til eggs hold everything together.

2. Burritos....heat flour tortilla. Spread with refried beans, then sprinkle with finely chopped beef, cheese, salsa, sour cream, chopped onion, tomato, and lettuce.

3. Fried rice....heat cold leftover rice over high heat in vegetable oil. Add chopped beef, onions, garlic, ginger, frozen peas/carrots a little hot pepper and saute til rice begins to pop. Add beaten eggs, stirfry til eggs firm up, and sprinkle all over with soy sauce. Eat.

4. German spaetzle bowl: Cook german spaetzle dumplings per pkg directions and drain well.
Heat 4T butter in a pan over high heat. Put spaetzle into the butter and saute til brown in some spots. Add beef pieces, and saute a couple minutes, then add a cup of frozen peas/carrots, a small chopped tomato, 1/8 teasp grated nutmeg, 1/2 teasp salt, a little black pepper.
Sprinkle with a little shredded cheddar, then garnish with some sour cream and red chili flakes.

My favorite sandwich:
Thinly sliced pot roast on a kaiser roll, topped with tomato slices, and well-drained coleslaw. Yum.

Hope you enjoy these recipes. My husband loves all of these dishes, and he is picky. So am I.

I like the bar-b-q sauce idea too..think I'll have to try that.

I've added curry powder w/honey and stuck them in pie dough
and made bite size turnovers. Like empanadas I guess.
Any kind of dough would probably do. Whatchya got in the freezer? Good luck. Hope the storm lets up soon...

Make beef and noodles. If you saved the juices from cooking the meat, or if you have some broth, you can make a nice sauce to go over it.
