Humans can't grasp the concept that there has always been a higher being. Our minds aren't capable of doing so. He has ALWAYS been there. You have to have faith and believe in things you can't see. You can't see oxygen, but you know it's there. Same with God, his wonders are everywhere, but you don't see the maker. He always has, is, and will be.

The atheist Bertrand Russell wrote in his book "Why I am Not a Christian" that if it is true that all things need a cause then God must also need a cause. He concluded from this that if God needed a cause then God was not God (and if God is not God then of course there is no God). This was basically a slightly more sophisticated form of the childlike question, "Who made God?" Even a child knows that things do not come from nothing, so if God is a "something" then He must have a cause as well, right?
The question is tricky because it sneaks in the false assumption that God came from somewhere and then asks where that might be. The answer is that the question does not even make sense. It is like asking, "What does blue smell like?" Blue is not in the category of things that have odor, so the question itself is flawed. In the same way, God is not in the category of things that are created, or come into existence, or are caused. God is uncaused and uncreated - He simply exists.
How do we know this? Well, we know that from nothing, nothing comes. So if there was ever a time when there was absolutely nothing in existence then nothing would have ever come to exist. But things do exist. Therefore, since there could never have been absolutely nothing, something had to have always been existing. That ever-existing thing is what we call God.

God came from the same place as everything else.
Among those places is the human mind, and the human condition, which is to say the least, a state of confusion and indecision.
God came from the need for God.
But also, God came from the physical elements.
Go outside on some night when the Moon is there and look at it. This moon circling Earth is impossibly huge for our planet. If it were not for this moon creating tides, that began the cycles of life, that allowed evolution to happen, then we would not exist. So you can even be an atheist and believe. This planet we live on is a miracle. You decide if God is there or not.

I use to believe in theistic evolution until I studied it for myself. Opened my mind and looked at the real evidence. We did not come for rocks. Yes, rocks. Earth cooled, rain washed minerals into the primordial soup and amino acids came into existance. Amino acids are not life.
Which came first the protein or the DNA? Answer, the God of Israel created them at the exactly the same time.

You are not a very good Catholic then! You are actually thinking for yourself. Nobody knows how the universe came into existence. God is a convenient explanation for a lot of people.

The God myth says that God always was and always will be. Faith being an important part of every religion, you just have to have faith and believe that he was always there.

By definition God should have existed eternally, or he wouldn't be God.
