I looking at buying a 1983 F150 with a 351 Windsor . What kind of fuel economy does this engine give?

Also was the auto tranny on this truck reliable?

About 11 mpg on the highway. It was a good engine, but a real guzzler.

Dude seriously here......
its an 83 ford truck with a 351 in it.....what kind of mileage are you expecting it to get? If you get 8-9 miles a gallon you will be lucky.

Enough that you will be able to get from one gas station the the next in most areas of the USA.

yea them yrs were gas guzzlers i had i 90 2 wheel drive i got 12 miles per gal

You'll probably need the 302 flexplate as they are likely balanced differently. Or, don't do that and wreck the transmission from vibration.
