Wow, a new car is nice. I wouldn't mind just having my car paid off. Don't forget about the little things while she's in the hospital like her favorite foods and helping with the baby so she can get her rest. Congrats!

You are so sweet to think of your wife. The poem would be enough for me, but a car, WOW!! But after giving birth and being home with a new one, I really wanted my husband home as much as possible. Since money is no object how about taking a leave from working and also hiring help around the house, cleaning, cooking, etc?? I would have loved that!! Congrats on the new baby!!

You should give her a gift certificate for a full body massage. Nothing will feel better than that after all those long months of carrying around extra weight, and finally going through the pain of childbirth. Thats really sweet that you wrote her a poem, it shows that you really care and not just to give her material things. Also, for while she's in the hospital, you could get her a nice plush robe or nightgown so she'll be super comfy while in a scary place.

Material things like jewelry are definitely great! I don't think anyone would turn that down. But what she most needs is support right now. If you hired a cleaning service to come into your house once a week, your wife would probably love it because that's one less thing she has to deal with. Or make her "coupons" for a night off with the girls once in a while so she can get out of the house while you watch the baby. A gift certificate for a day spa would be appreciated too, I'm sure.

I would go with jewlery that she can wear everyday and remember when she got it.

Or a bigger vehicle to drive the baby around in. Like an Suv, or a minivan. They are so much easier than a little car :)

Congrats :)

I really like the new car idea. Something else that might be nice: a whole day at the spa..she could get a massage, a hair cut, a mani and pedi...let her get spoiled a bit! or something else she might like could be one of those mom rings that has your kids birthstones on them...hope this helps! good luck and CONGRATS!!

Decorate the bedroom.......get a new super duper comfy bed with a plasma that comes out the bottom. That way shell get the best sleep and rest that she will need!!!

alteratively you could get her a special please of jewellery with engraving on it with a sentimental message including the babys birth date. and shell always have it as a reminder.

Congratulations and good luck

a vacation is not the best because she's tired from just giving birth
if you didn't already decorate and put new clothes in the nursery that would make a great surprise
