I think it would depend on which specific scriptures the voice was quoting. I hope I would not "assume" anything but would examine the experience closely before coming to a conclusion.
I would tend, however, to think it was an angel, not a demon. I'm not Christian, so an angel might quote scripture to lead me back to a Christian path. But why would a demon quote scripture to a non-Christian?

you could take David's suggestion, yet understand, there is not any trinity, God is one, Jesus is God the Holy Spirit. examine Isaiah 9:6, Isaiah forty 4:6, and 2d John a million:9-11. Accepting Jesus and saying a prayer on my own won't convey you to salvation, Repentance, baptism in Jesus call, no longer the father, son and holy ghost!(Acts 2:38-39) with information of talking in tounges (Acts 2) WILL convey you to salvation.

Well, this happened to me and I made the correct assumption...I have epilepsy.
Neurologists and honest biblical scholars think a lot of the visions from the bible may be accounts of epileptic seizures.
What I really hate is when priests kill people that have epilepsy.

I have never heard voices...so I do not want to take part of this hypothetical question.
