My grandad used to be a vicar, and i was baptised and i was confirmed about a year ago. I would like to be a better christian. I dont attend church every sunday because the rest of the family i live with arnt very religious, i dont really think they notice that i am actually quite commited to Christianity.
I do wear a necklace with the cross on it nearly every day, prey every night, and sometimes read the bible.
I also try not to waste things like food and try to be more greatfull for the things i have.
How else could i become a better christian.
I should be hopefully attending church on Christmas eve.

Try to make it to church despite what your family does. Be an example to them. Pray and study every day. You can go to www.dynamispublications.com ( or .org) for a daily lesson. Use Christ as an example of how to live.

Just to have a desire to get closer to God is a great start. Just keep praying and asking God to show you His ways and draw you closer to Him. Ask the Holy Spirit to put His love in your heart towards others and to take anything out of your life that is not pleasing to Him. He does a wonderful job at doing this. You will notice the changes taking place in time. I think you are doing a good job and I am sure that He is proud of you. God Bless You.

Christianity is not a "works" based religion. You cannot earn your way to heaven by doing things. It does not matter what your grandparents or your parents did or are doing, it is all about you. It has to be personal. Unfortunately your background is going to get in your way. Try reading the bible more often and without the help of others who may taint its message with their own opinions. I appreciate your desire to be a better christian and encourage you in your walk.

It's nice to know that you are very committed to Christianity by wearing a necklace with a cross on it nearly every day, praying every night, and sometimes reading the Bible. I'm very committed to my job by wearing my work clothes nearly every day at work, showing up to work every night, and sometimes doing what I'm told to do at work. Classic!!

I think being a good Christian comes more from WHO YOU ARE rather than WHAT YOU DO. Going to church isn't everything. Tons of poeple go to church every single Sunday & trust me, they aren't all that "good". BE a good person & believe in Jesus and everything will fall into place.

you are way better at Christianity than I am and Chris's advice is really good so... my only advice is to get your family more motivated about Christ, but you are probably going to have to show them that you really are devoted. maybe even give more than you recieve! like once i gave 5 dollars to a homeless guy and put a few quarters in an expired parking meter. its the little things, but dont you think He looks on those just as much?

Daughter of God, DO read your Bible daily. Attend a good church regularly--every time there is a service. Join a Bible study group.

May the Lord bless your wise and good intentions. +

Well God isn't so concerned about what you do as what you believe and your trust in Him. I personally am a spiritual Christian and I read my Bible just a chapter or so a day as much as possible, I try to dwell on what I read throughout my day and I try to take time out to talk to God and to thank Him for all He has done for me and all He has done in my life.
I try to keep myself humble and walk with my LORD.
Take care and may God bless you spiritually.

You just have to live the life that Jesus did. Love with all you have, forgvie quickly and remember that God has blessed us sooo much. You can't be a better Christian, one has to just listen and obey God. That is all, we can't do anything to become a better christian than another. Sure you can get closer through prayer and daily Bible readings, but one cannot be better than the other.

God Bless.

Be a better Christian by following his example.

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
