This question is for those who do Microwave Cooking. My mother is "old school" and has always used a conventional oven. (I don't begrudge her). Recently she bought a trailer that came with a brand-new microwave oven. Now, she wants to do more cooking with it. You know how hard Moms are to shop for at Christmas (because they have everything already) so I thought I would add this to some other things I'm getting her. (She does not use the internet so it has to be a real book)!
Can you please recommend me the title, author and a brief reason why you think it was good/helpful for you. Your assistance is greatly appreciated!:)

There is an excellent cookbook by Barbara Kafka called the Microwave Gourmet. There are two versions (the standard version and the healthy cooking version). I have both but highly recommend the standard version.

Looks like Rhonda beat me by a few seconds, but we both agree, that's the one to get.

I love Donavan's cookbook...it is funny and teaches you the basics of cooking in the mircro...it was the first book I owned on microwave cooking and I still use it all the time...it is not a large book,,but you do learn all the basics,,,and some great recipes that you will cook over and over...here is is for .25 plus postage..imagine that?

There are only two or three things I cook in a microwave. Vegs. scrambled eggs, and fish because it stays so moist the way I do it. But other than that in my opinion it is a lousy way to cook. Altho let's not forget popcorn LOL
