I think you have to examine what Christmas really means to you.
While I would like to be able to spend loads of money on gifts,
I can't right now. But I stop and look at the wealth of love and joy that I get from my family. I take a moment to reflect on my blessings and I am overwhelmed in how much I really have.
I look at Christmas as a time to be joyful in the gift that is my family and I am thankful to be able to help others to remember their blessings not only at Christmas, but all year long.
Merry Christmas to you Green Eyes ...
I hope you find your joy again! God bless!

I know what you mean,,, Christmas and all the holiday stuff that goes with it can be the hardest time for alot of people so don't feel like you are the only one,, This year the holiday's don't feel the same for me either,,

I love Christmas and Thanksgiving, and bringing in the New Year,, But this year my daughter got married and moved to Washington state where her husband is stationed in the army..So this is the first of everything without her,,

So yeah it's been really hard to get in the spirit,, I just have to Thank God, that they are both Christians,, and God is watching over them.. And pray that they both return home safely,,

So hang in there and lean on God,, Theres no rule that states you have to be happy go lucky 24/7.. I know what helps me get out of a slump is to get my mind off of me and how I am feeling,,

And think of what I can do for someone else,, Be a Blessing to someone and you will be Blessed...

I never get in the Christmas spirit until about two weeks before Christmas, then everyone better look out, I hit every store in sight. And stay up till midnight and later cooking, wrapping, delivering gifts to family, friends and those less fortunate then myself and having and ball.

Me neither, Green Eyes. I think it all has something to do with getting older, the blatant commercialism, the greed.

It doesn't really matter what anyone holds as their beliefs, or why they celebrate. The holidays should be a time for love and kindness, reconnecting with family and friends, the spreading of good cheer, helping others.

But it's not that anymore, and it hasn't been for a long time. Families are separated by miles, and can't be together because of job demands. People are pressured to be perfect, and to put on extravagant celebrations while ignoring the knocking of the creditors at the door.

I long for the simpler times.

That is because man has once again turned a joyous event into something to fear if you can't afford diamonds and hummers for all. However I don't allow that to steal the real joy of Christmas and I still love it as much if not more than ever.
Jesus is the reason for the season. Not businesses.

I miss my sister. She died in 1990. We were identical twins. Both parents are dead, I live alone, so it is not my favorite time of year.

I am a Christian, and I am happy that Jesus was born, that He died for me, and I rejoice in Him. The rest of it is very sad.

Hey, but I do have good friends, and I have my 2 cats!

Plus I don't have to get into all those family arguments, lol, cause there is just me!

I like what jaycee said, too.

It will all be ok.

I send you good wishes.

Me either but I am trying. Guess it is because so much is happening in my life right now. I didn't even get to do Thanksgiving with my family.

There is nothing Christian about Christmas.

- from a Christian who loves the Lord with all his heart.
