If you take the Bible literally, it would be one of his sisters. Incest being forbidden later.
If you take it figuratively..Mitochondrial Eve, was a woman in Africa 150,000 years ago..We are all brothers and sisters so there is no basis for bigotry.

Eve was used to populate the world, but all the children didn't come from Adam. A careful reading of the scriptures will teach that Eve told Adam, she had gotten a man from God. The child didn't look like Adam or Eve. Eve knew the child came from God. Eve bore all races, just like the holy spirit impregnated Mary, it did the same for Eve. Eve is the mother of all living, but Adam is not the father of all living.

Genesis 4:17 says, "Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch." Who was his wife? It is implied in the biblical text that Cain married one of his sisters. Several facts lead us to this conclusion.
First, it is clear that Adam and Eve had a number of children. Genesis 5:4 says, "After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters." Since Adam and Eve were the first man and woman, and since God had commanded them (and their descendants) to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28), it seems reasonable to conclude that Cain married one of his many sisters. It is also possible that he married a niece or even a grandniece.
One must keep in mind that in the early years of the human race there were no genetic defects that had yet developed as a result of the fall of man. By the time of Abraham, God had not yet declared this kind of marriage to be contrary to His will (see Genesis 20:12). Laws governing incest apparently did not become enacted until the time of Moses (Lev 18:7-17; 20:11,12,14,17,20,21). Hence, there was no prohibition regarding marrying a sister (or niece or grandniece) in the days of Cain.

Why was it wrong? The bothers married their sisters, and later, nieces, cousins, etc.
Adam and Eve did have other children besides Cain, Abel and Seth. Note that the Bible didn't say when the daughters were born.
"Gen 5:4 And the days of Adam after he fathered Seth were eight hundred years. And he fathered sons and daughters. "

Good question!
"In regard to the populating of the earth brother had to marry sister for a short while in fact even several generations of men Abraham's wife Sara was his half sister. There was no problem with close kin marrying at the time because disease had not begun to be a problem."
Brothers and sisters could get married because they were pure and like the quote says there was no diseases.

In the beginning our bodies were perfect. The longer we have lived the more imperfect we have become. It's come down to 70 years for a life span from 900+ years. In the beginning brother and sisters married of course. It was the only way for us to multiply and fill the earth. It was not wrong back then.
Now there is no need for brothers and sisters to marry. Now God doesn't want us to commit incest. Because the close blood lines cause birth defects.

At that time there was no genetic defects and sleeping with your sibling was ok. That was several thousands of years ago. Some say 6000, others say 4000. Evolution says many thousand of years ago. Most of the old testament is full of incest. The Egyptian pharoahs, Abraham & his sister Sarah, etc.
Either way it was definitely before Jesus's time. Lying with your sibling has only been against the law since 2000 years ago.

No girls are mentioned as the progeny of Adam and Eve.
We can only assume that Cain and Able had sex with their mother.
Of course, Christians will say that there were other people on earth, even though that negates the whole Adam and Eve story.
