HIV tests are usually conducted on random but maybe be mandatory for some sectors.

I'm a veteran and I was only tested for HIV before I went to Iraq and after I got back home....but I'm a veteran in the National Guard not the active Army...so maybe they do test for it more often in the active Army.

There is no policy that I know of that test veterans on a routine or any basis for HIV/AIDS. It may be a program to help those who contracted it prior to release from active duty. If you know someone trying to sell you a line like that, keep your distance.

I don't understand why they would test every 3 months unless they think he is at risk. As far as I know they do it yearly.
