Regular battery operated tooth brush is better than the regular tooth brush. The sonicare puts them both to shame! Our daughter saved her money for 3 years to pay to have braces. They gave her a battery operated toothbrush and she constantly had trouble getting all her teeth clean and with breath stink. We got her to get a Sonicare and within 2 weeks, her breath smelled better (her gums were no longer bright red) and the orthodontist assistants noticed how much cleaner her teeth were. She got the model with the timer and the charger. It is well worth the money! Now our son has one as well and his teeth have improved.
