And if God is referring to Gods that man creates....well that doesnt even make sense because men cant make God's and God knows this!

And idols and other Gods are two seperate commandments so they are not equal in terms. Do not worship idols. Idols are the only thing a man can make.

1 Cor. 8:5-6 :

"For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live."

The apostle Paul is saying, "don't worry about it. This is the only God that you must be concerned with worshipping."
I believe that there are likely other gods, but none that will bless our lives or that we need to concern ourselves with.

Suggestion: If the God of your thoughts and religion's teachings has given you free will, what would you call it, if that same God told you what to do? Would you rationalize that it's ok for that God to go back on its promise to give you free will and then say, BUT "You must do this and that or...!" And, would that All-Loving God admonish?! OR, is it possible that information from humans has corrupted the description and actions of that God, and thus, man then has made that God in Man's Image?

God is taking about the false idols and beliefs. To follow after any other man made god. God is also saying put him first in your life. For example it fine to enjoy the work you do but if that profession is all you worry about, all you care about, it has become a god to you.

There is only one God, people interpret God in different names and forms. God is the Origin and Destination of the Universe and is beyond life and death. All religions of world teach human way to get close to God. You give your Best, God will give thy Best. Ask God for help and forgive, God will help and forgive you. Pray; Worship and Thank God for everything. Remember wherever there is Happiness in Life, there will be Sorrow. To get Happiness, you must master Sorrow. For Success in Life; Believe in Self and God, Learn from Past, Concentrate in Present, Plan for Future, and remember ignorance gives failures. Have control on, be the master of, not the slave of your body, senses, and mind. Purpose of this Life is to Improve by Gaining and Sharing utmost Knowledge and Experience to differentiate and choose Best, Right, Good, Truth, God against Worst, Wrong, Bad, Untruth, Devil. Set your Desire level perfect or OK to be brave, no low to be coward, no high to be cruel. You have rights of Survival, Self Defence, and Freedom.

Many passages in the Old Testament seem to read that way. They don't so much point to God as the only god as they do to his ability to kick other god's asses.

That's not a religious answer - just an atheist's take on another book.

Psalms 115:2-8
Also The apostle paul refers at 2corinthians 4:4 that satan is the GOD of this system of things (bearing in mind that his words were inspired from God (2timothy 3:16)

Alright!!! U have already answered ur question by sayin man cannot make God and God knows that.... Well said! But God is referring to the imaginary God that people create in their minds and make a potrait or a sculpture out of it and pray to it and worship it and they forget the actual way in which God wants us to pray!!! That verse was actually revealed in the ancient times... The times when there were messengers or prophets coming down to the world.... When people were more ignorant and less literate.... Now after the reign of all the prophets, it is clear that God is One and we all worship to Thou.... N it completely depends about one's interpretation.... N i wanna tell u one more thing that dont raise these kind of questions in these forums or web.... Clarify ur doubts personally with a pious person... He can help u clear ur doubt more than ne1 else out hea.... Ok..... Take care....

Which God said that?

Was it the God of the Bible Yahweh/Jehovah who told the Israelites to go to war against their neighbors..

Kill the men and take the women and children into slavery...and then they could have the Promised land of Israel.

Where Jews are still Persecuting Palestinians ( Philistines ) today...

Genocide and Ethnic Cleansing..Is what we learn from this God...

I Certainly Hope there are others...

There were many religions and cults that did believe in different deities, yes of course. Today there are faiths that are polytheistic.

The command to Abraham to worship one G-d and one G-d only came at a time when the Hebrews were exposed to the beliefs of the Canannites, for example, and they practised human sacrifice.

There are no other Gods, but we create idols in our life. Money can be an idol, television can be an idol, anything that comes between us and our relationship with God. Physical idols are created as well, such as the Golden Calf in the Old Testament. These are the gods that God was refering to.
