Ok girls have you ever given yourself a hotfoot in the kitchen?

Here's what happened:

I wanted to make my bf breakfast in bed, and it was supposed to be really romantic. But I dropped a pot of hot oatmeal on my toes this morning while making it!

I screamed bloody murder and he came out to see something like this. I am in my sexiest nightie holding a rose in one hand way over my head and my foot in the other hunched over on my right side hopping around in a circle for about 20 seconds yelping and cursing! Owwwie! And all I could think of was that I looked like a cartoon!

So have you ever given yourself a hot foot in the kitchen? And if you did, did you or would you hop up and down on one foot (spoiling the romantic moment)?

And most importantly do you think it would be okay for your bf to LAUGH????

Girls only! I already know the guys think this is funny! And don't try to pretend to be sensitive and say you don't cuz we don't believe it! Is this really funny, girls?????

Lulu--Um, yes! Especially when they wind up jammed between your toes and you can't get them out! (This was just one story I have had a hot foot in the kitchen many times!)

I was making Christmas cookies and packing them for mailing. I was using popcorn to pad them with. Do you have any idea how hot the deaders are when they get blown out of the hot air popper? Not until you step on a few.

I've been barefoot for over ten years -not just in the kitchen but everywhere. I've never dropped anything hot on my foot, and really, only closed-toe, waterproof shoes would provide protection from that. Spill any hot soup or other liquid on your socked, slippered or sandalled foot and the liquid will be kept close to the skin for a longer time, making the burn worse. (flipflops certainly won't help against dropping something onto your foot either; or did they invent flipflops with an invisible force field?).

Whenever you drop something hot on *any* body part, remember to get to the cold tap right away, flush it off and keep rinsing with cold water for a couple minutes. You can curse while doing that ;-), but try to keep your mind cool enough to skip the hopping around; even if you don't see any food or hot drink on the skin, burn damage keeps getting worse for a while after the actual burn unless it gets cooled, and water works better than just shaking it around in the air.
