I have a program called Name Muse:
I looked up the name on it and Although it listed the name as being or Greek or Polish origin not Hawaiian or Polynesian...
here's the info it gave:

Halina
Female
Origin: Greek/Polish
Historical Meaning:
Light.

Numerology:
Expression Number 9: People with this name tend to be passionate, compassionate, intuitive, romantic, and to have magnetic personalities. They are usually humanitarian, broadminded and generous, and tend to follow professions where they can serve humanity. Because they are so affectionate and giving, they may be imposed on. They are romantic and easily fall in love, but may be easily hurt and are sometimes quick-tempered.

Soul Urge 11: People with this name have a deep inner desire to inspire others in a higher cause, and to share their own strongly held views on spiritual matters.

Hope this helped.

Experts in numerology use the numbers to determine the best time for major moves and activities in life. Numerology is used to decide when to invest, when to marry, when to travel, when to change jobs, or relocate. Numerology is an occult science and for me it's fascinating. It is perhaps the easiest of the occult arts to understand and use. All you need is the birth date and the complete name of an individual to unlock all of the secrets that the numbers hold.

that is not a Hawaiian word. if it is, then it is spelled wrong or it is a combination of more than one word. "ha" has some meanings. "linalina" means a scar or something sticky. "alina" also means a scar or something disgraceful. there is no such word as "halina" in Hawaiian.

It's the same name in English. It means a resemblance or appearance.
