Im on a budget, and i can only afford one game on the playstation 3 on the day that i buy the console (although i will have two since the 80 gb comes with one already).
What do you think should be my first PS3 game? here is what i have in mind:
Assasins Creed
Resistance: Fall of Man
Heavenly Sword
Call of Duty 4

Call of duty 4 is great and has tons of people online but the story is really short. Heaven Sword is also short. Other than those games there is Warhawk this is like call of duty 4 but with more weapons planes it is only multiplayer cost the same as a regular game but comes with a bluetooth headset that is compatible with any game and phone it had a lot of people online but that's going to happen again because the game is getting an upgrade in a week or two and my friends in the game are all going back to play and so are tons of other people the upgrade is free and there are still people playing so it's still fun.

I think that you should go with Resistance Fall of Man or Heavenly Sword because they're both PS3 exclusives and they are just awesome games, I own both of them as well.
Resistance Fall of Man has online gameplay, and Heavenly Sword has a great single player mode, but Heavenly Sword is a little short, that's the only downside though, but it's still worth playing.

Call of duty 4 or resistance fall of man. It would be a grweat way for you to experience gaming on the console as well as online.

Go with Resistance: Fall of Man. It's got a solid single player and the online play is to die for. I never liked fps before but my bro convinced me to get this game and I love it. Definatly get your ps3 online too, the online play is sweet and free (unlike xbox live) then you also have playstation home coming out in the near future. Online play gives gave so much more replay value...

Resistance would be my choice, but the online community is starting to die out.. as games like warhawk, call of duty4, assasins creeed,etc. are out.
If you are going for single player i would recommend..
Resistance: It has a very long single player
Oblivion: Has 100 + hours of gameplay, and simply an incredible game
Assasins creed: good length, and good fun
Heavenly sword, lair, ratchet and clank, uncharted are all superb games, but they all end wayy too soon.
Online wise:
Resistance: Even though its dieing out now
Warhawk: This would be my choice, this game has something for everyone, simply awesome
Call of duty 4: One of my favorite fps of all time, seriously an awesome game.
So if you want single player id say resistance or oblivion
if you want online warhawk or call of duty 4

Heavenly sword if you like a hack n slash game and resistance fall of man for a fps... its a great exclusive that has a great story.. cod4 has a great story but its very short resistance is like a 12-16 hr game both excellent in multiplayer personally i like resistance (heavenly sword is a 6 hr game with no multiplayer) but very good story line

i would recommend Assassin's Creed and Heavenly Sword but since it doesnt seem like you can get more games really soon so you will need games you wont finish right away.....
heavenly sword is an AWESOME game but is kinda short so i unless you really want it i dont recommend it as a first game....
Assassin's Creed is mind blowingly AWESOME its like tenchu prince of persia and Grand Theft Auto put together in one great game!
heres a game i think you should get thats not on your list
Warhawk
-I definitely think you should get this you wont ever get tired of playing this game because online play is AWESOME!
so i think you should get assassin's creed and warhawk then heavenly sword the COD4 as your 3rd and 4th game....
unless you want to balance out you games with one single player and one multiplayer game.... then id recommend COD4 and assassin's creed....
sorry for the confusing advice cuz there are just so much more games i want to recommend to you but cant cuz you can only get 2.....

I would go wuth Resistance - FOM. It's an exsclusive PS3 game (graphics are crazy). COD 4 is OK too, but graphics aren't that good and it's really short.
