...and I woke up today and I've got someone else's coat and scarf. I wasn't wearing a coat at the bar and I don't know who's it was or where/when I took it.

There isn't a name or anything or any sort of ID. There was like $25 in the pocket, but I used that for Chinese food on my walk home. Man, I love Chinese food when I'm drunk. Crab rangoon and Sweet-and-Sour chicken! Aw yeah.

Anyway, so now I've got this dude's coat and scarf and $6.50 of his money, but I don't know what to do?

First off, your story is a bit flawed, you woke up with someones coat a scarf and didn't know where it came from, but you remember buying chinese food on the way home and what you ordered. That is neither here nor there though just a small observation. I would do nothing with the coat, there is no need to put out lost puppy signs or anything, but if someone says they lost then offer your info up.

Oh come on. There have been plenty of evenings when my meal has been crystal clear but the details of the rest have been a bit fuzzy. I particularly remember a beautiful basket of chicken wings along with a cheese/pico de gallo sauce.... mmmmm... And, I also remember coming home at the end of the night with the tambourine from a band. What did I do? I found the band and took it back to him. That's what you should do as well. Take the coat back to the bar. With the cash in the pocket. All of it. Then you can erase the night with a clear conscience! Ahhh... the joys of a guilt-free night.

Chinese food does not agree with my stomach when I'm drunk. Generally, I go for mashed potatoes. Don't know why. At any rate, I know the right thing to do would be to take the coat back to the bar, but in all honesty, I would probably keep it. I would just be prepared to give it back at a moments notice, along with the money. Weird things happen when people are drunk.

Take it back to bar you "borrowed" it from.Hopefully someone you were with will remember where you were! That person will probably call or go there for round 2 today and inquire about his jacket...
Good luck! I'm glad you walked home!!

have you tried going back to the bar you were at and asking the bartender or people that were there what might have happened? Or you could just keep the coat and 6.50 because you have no way of finding out whose coat it was.

I agree with the flawed statement, to the point of asking if you made up a story just to put a question on here to peak everyone's interest. Good job, it worked.
