The Sudanese anger is not totally due to naming a teddy bear Muhammed. Prophet Muhammed himself never said not to name anything after him.He wouldn’t care.
But those gestures of disrespect and degradation of the muslims’most respected religious symbol serve as reminders to muslims of the ongoing campaign against their religion and culture,it just adds up to :

1. Early Christian Crusades
2. Colonization

And in modern history,

3. the Wstern conspiracy with the Jews to carve out a country for the latter by slaughtering the whole muslim nation of Palestine for the last 60 years against the UN resolutions and voices of freedom all around the world.

So,it is not totally due to the Teddy Bear.

That teacher is an idiot,British people have been dispatched to spread the English language in muslim countries for years. They have a tradition of what to expect, how to respect other people's religions and habits.
Besides, she must have heard of the riot following the cartoons. She was supposed to be a good example of respect for her students.

All countries have laws that are expected to obey.Let us say,she speeds in her country-Britain and a cop chased her and fined her or sent her to jail, wouldnt it be ok or would her prime minister and people like you interneve to condemn the cop ?

Britain also has defamation laws where individuals and businesses are fined and sent to jail with no fuss, but defaming the most noble teacher of more than 1 billion people is fine with you.

Or how about this Iraqi women, why I dont see you defending them ?

Enough double standards !

Try to think about the thousands of innocent mulsims thrown in Guantanamo for no crime other than they happened to hold muslim names like mohamed in some of airports in the land of freedom, tolerance and loving god.

am not gonna say all you wrote is BS,you came with a good background information as to why people extremely reacted.
I am also not sure the teacher did not know the conotation of a bear to a prophet, but let us just assume she made a faux pas, does she have to bear the burden of all that history ?
I believe it is more of a conflict between western freedom and religion, any religion. That is ,the struggle has nothing to do with the teacher, the bear or the prophet

I'm not sure how all the past and recent wrongs done to the Muslim people can fairly be put on this one woman's shoulders...The being sentenced to jail is a shock (to me) but the calls for a beheading are just disgusting! This is just hate and human cruelty at their worst and I can not imagine any truly religious leaders sanctioning those actions! It's just irrational.

Well, well, well ...

Do you know that I keep coming to this section for the past three days looking from SOME reasonable response from Muslims and this is the first post that had me stop and think.

I have great respect for you. I do not and never will agree with the ideology of Islam, but I value the fact that you came here to speak up and for that I applaud you! :)

EDIT: However, I don't think that ''you're not that innocent either'' tactics is very advisable.

She let the children choose the name for the teddy bear. What could be more respectful to her students than that?

This isn't comparable to the cartoons because the cartoons were deliberately intended to provoke and offend. This was an innocent error on her part.

Actually, I strongly advise Muslims to keep their heads down for a while until this wretched episode blows over.

Playing 'you started it' and 'but what about X' at this stage will not help. You guys just shot yourself squarely in the foot.

You are trying to justify the cowardly actions of the perverted muslims in sudan by showing that you can justify any action as religiously justified. Sure.
