How can simple disbelief in anything be a sin? Belief is not a morla issue, it's a truth issue. How can the "believe or go to hell" assertion make sense to any thinking person?

Actually, your teeth will end up in hell. It is unusual how many people miss the deep life-changing meaning of the lost scrolls of the tooth - which only survive as a series of fragmented quotes in other writings of the time. I assure you, if you do not brush, floss and put all lost teeth under the pillow upon the first night following their loss? You will be completely toothless in heaven for all eternity. On the other hand, if you are in hell, at least you will be able to smile about it.

Clever logic but if the Christians are right Hell may still be waiting for the likes of us.

----------------------

Some Christians believe you must make a conscious choice to harden your heart to the truth, to reject Jesus.

Many however couldn't care if it is a moral, ammoral or immoral choice. Many see it as their obligation to tell you the "good news" (that you will go to hell if you disbelieve), what you do with that is your choice.

---------------------------

According to the toothites following the teachings of the fairy has rewards such as swapping of currency for lost teeth. To my knowledge there are no punitive measures inflicted on non believers.

Some brands of Christianity play down the whole Hell issue but most find the threat of wailing and gnashing of teeth a good motivator.

Perhaps if you were in hell and lost your teeth during the tooth gnashing, the tooth fairy might give you a coin or two if you could find a pillow to put your teeth under.

If you are a devout atheist and deny the presence of God why are you so concerned with what the believers do. The sin of rejecting Christ (the gift of God) is what is keeping you from going to heaven. Man in his dilemma of sin can only be forgiven by Christ who took your place on the cross. He is the only acceptable sacrifice for the sins of man, because He was perfect(never sinned). So it comes down to you being able to accept that or not. Before one makes a choice I should think you should check out the situation before just saying I can't accept that. The results of your decision are eternal. I would suggest you take a look at the book of John in the New Testament only takes a little time. Perhaps you are like most atheists when suggested they look at the word they invariably say "Oh I have read the bible umpteen times" yeah right, so I just encourage you to take a look, Cheers.

It doesn't make any sense to any thinking person, which is why so many just ignore it.

Disbelief is not a sin. There is no sin. It's a load of delusional junk. Ignore it like the rest of us who know better.

Tell me where in the Bible the tooth fairy is mentioned. And then give me the text where it says that I should believe in it.

But you do know that the model of Nebraska Man WAS based on a single pig's tooth, right? Talk about tooth fairy !!

And I do know that scientists believed it of years, until it was found to be a pig's tooth, and the hoax was exposed.

Well how about you write a book about what the tooth fairy commands and wishes and then I will think about worshiping her, and yes can we make it a her. The masculine deities are just so damn harsh.

If you don't believe in the tooth fairy, she'll show up one night when you least expect it, and perform root canals on ALL OF YOUR TEETH without novacaine.

So you BETTER believe...

No, it means you hate the toothfairy and you just want to deny sin.
