My brother purchased some advertising from American Advertising in Las Vegas. He received notification that he won a Bahamas vacation but without airfare. Now the advertisers says he has won a large sum of money, but they want him to buy more advertising before they release the money. I think it's a scam. Has anyone had any personal experience with this company?

Sorry puppets - I live in Australia (as you know).
Sounds like a major scam to me. Do you have a Consumer Affairs agency that might be able to help?
Good luck with this one!

Anything that requires you to pay money or buy something in order to claim something you've "won" is a scam. S-C-A-M.

It's possible that they have promotions where you "earn" freebies with purchase and their marketing or sales department got carried away with the phrasing... but it sounds to me more like they're trying to scam him.
