Looking to trace a adoption of 1874 in NY.?

Question

I have the papers .The adoption took place just as indenture was going out.The Child was an infant and the place he came from was the Womans Guardian Society in Brooklyn.
I have the names of the adoptive parents.Where do I start I'm doing family history .

well you could start ellis island. see when they came here if you know that is great. you can call social security office and get information there on the dead. gosh that is neat. take care.
