Do you feel it is okay for a wife to do certain things without asking permission from her husband?
Specially things that related to her parents and siblings. Knowing that your husband does not like your family side that much.

my husband asked me not to contact my family for a while(after the fight he had with my mom) but i missed them so much that sometimes i made phone call without my husband knowledge. Thats all.

I have never heard anything mentioned in wedding vows about asking the husband for permission !!!!!!!
He doesnt like the in laws a great deal - bad luck.
As long as she isnt doing the wrong thing with another guy.

u shouldnt have to ask for permission for anything but it might not hurt to tell him that this is what ur doing so he knows where ur at and stuff.....but no u shouldnt ask for permission and he shouldnt care if ur not dragging him along..if he does not let u go he is controling and stuff and another thing ur husband may be ur new family but ur parents and sibiling will be there forever through thick or thin....but again i think ur husband is a lil controling....and i understand i am going through the same situation....my husband actually monitors me when i am talking to my sisters he thinks im talkin bad about him...but i bet u have a strong head on u and i t hink u dont need him and ur family will always be there for u no matter what...go ahead talk to ur folks if he dont like it oh well u told him what u were doing so he can either go with u or stay home and watch football or something

Hiding things from your husband is a sure fire way to cause marriage problems.Like giving money to a parent who has to pay their rent and has no money because they gambled it all away is a very BAD thing to do.
Taking your sister to get an abortion because she was irresponsible isnt good either.Taking your mom to buy illegal drugs because she wrecked and totaled the car driving drunk last week isnt a good idea either.
You didnt give me any examples so I gave a few.
Now if its like taking mom to get groceries because dad fell and broke his leg and their car is in the garage, or they are both working and your sister needs a ride home from school , then your husband would be a total butt head to refuse you to do those things for your family.

It depends on what your doing...if it's not illegal and you're not cheating then you shouldn't have to ASK for permission. However, you should not hide things from him. You guys should be able to communicate freely with one another about anything. If he doesn't like the family then he doesn't have to go. Don't ask, but communicate to him what your plans are and be sure to make some time for you and him later on.

If I choose to help my sister out with anything, and my hubby didn't like it, I'll tell him where to go!! Her family is her family, and she'd leave you for them if you push it, or stay and hate you, so let it go.

As long as you are truthful what you are doing and its legal (of course) with your family; it should not matter.
