work out a little, work on your grades, and apply to both. see what happens.

Both USMA and USNA are great schools, however, I fail to see how they could make you a better leader. A good leader possesses personal courage, care for his soldiers, tactical competence, and other qualities that have nothing to do with commissioning sources. Regardless of the source of commission, you will have the same responsibilities as an Army Officer. I have seen jacked up officers from all sources of commission and outstanding officers from all sources of commission. It's on YOU if you want to be a good leader or not.
But to answer your question..... Transfer into West Point would be hard and depend a lot on how you are doing academically. Your SAT score is below the standard. You would have a shot at getting into West Point, but realize that West Point is a very close knit community and you just jumped in on your 3rd year, is that how you want to start your Army career?

I don't know about the USNA but I don't think that West point preps Cadets any better than ROTC.
Also they don't count any of your college from other schools so you would be starting over.
Just do ROTC and you can still do anything you want in the military. If you are in the guard or reserve at the same time, that time will count for pay too.
I was in the Guard while I did ROTC and I think I was better prepared than the West Pointers.
but they do have a major advantage of networking. every were you go in the military you will see a classmate.

You have minimal chances of getting in by application considering your grades and SAT score. You might be able to get in by appointment from your Senator or Congressman.
Stay in college, get a decent engineering degree with good grades, do ROTC and you can get into the Army as an officer.
Promotions will be based upon duty performance.

Well, you should realize how difficult (rigorous) these schools are, so I'll assume you have some sense of that. If academics are difficult for you, if you are average in that regard, it could be very difficult with the increased demands of the two academies. From what you typed, I would suggest you see how you do in college for at least one year. You have to get serious about school and develop good habits so that you know your potential academically, THEN you can say to yourself, yes or no. ROTC is like the Boy Scouts compared to West Point, no insult intended to the Boy Scouts.

You can apply, but you'd better have a Plan B because I think you'd be a long-shot. There's nothing wrong with ROTC to get a commission.

Yes, it bothers me very much! The way I see it, is if they "love" the band/musician so much, then why can't they spell the name correctly? That's the same for songs. I absolutely am so bothered by fake-fans, even of bands/musicians/songs I don't like. I know people are fake-fans just so they can seem "cool", or something, which is the thing that bothers me the most.

If you feel that you have the qualifications, then you must give it a shot or forever regret it.
