My 12 year old son went to his friends house, fhey went to the pool and I found out they were sitting in the hottub for almost the whole time (3-4 hours)

My son is home now, his skin looks different. It looks very dried out as if there is no moisture left in his skin. He also says its itchy sometimes.

What should I be doing?

aloe vera gel works miricals on evry skin conditiona nd a queching moisterizer. Bag balm is good but smells weird its for dry chpped skin that they use on cow utters when milking so it doesnt get dry or chapped or if it is and i use it on my lips and love it, it makes a great lip gloss!! it comes in a square tin if that helps at drug stores.

if the heater was on - there may be damage

That time should have been limited to no more than 15 minutes (now you tell me) if the heat is on

yep - serious moisturizer - and watch out for skin infections

may need a trip to the pediatrician/ or a phone call to the nurse = our insurance company has a 24 hr nurse hotline

A serious moisturizer is in order. And maybe a couple of quick baths with baby oil in the water over the next couple of days.

The best thing to use is baby oil. Its a great moisturizer and works wonderful on my child's dry skin. In fact its the only thing that works...Good Luck

I did the same thing when I was younger. No clue how to treat it. I do have problems with it now but that is also due to my job and equipment that I must wear. At times it gets so dry that it cracks and peels and it hurts but the bills must be paid. I know it's no help but possibly a check with a doctor may have something so that he doesn't have to deal with it like I do!!
